Here’s a random one I did for fun. I haven’t designed anything for a while, so I wanted to get back into it. It’s a lot more detailed than my usual work, but I think it came out alright.
Ok, so I realize that I’ve really been missing in action for a while. Well first of all, I finished up freshman year at school and I was loaded with finals and final projects and stuff. Second of all, I know I haven’t been blogging or twittering or whatever, so I’ve really been out of the technological loop.
So here’s the deal, unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be releasing a new product for June. Though I wanted to, I was neither prepared, nor did I order them in time to release them.
I haven’t had an adequate amount of time to devote to Lowdtown recently, so I think that I’ve come up with a good solution. From now on, Lowdtown will be releasing new clothes by season rather than by month. I hope there will be no backlash, because I think I have good reasoning. Being a student, I don’t have the luxury of being able to work full-time on Lowdtown, so I barely have enough time per month to come up with new designs. Also, if I design lines per season, they will have a lot more thought behind them, and the lines will be much more cohesive. I have a lot of plans to evolve Lowdtown Friends & Freaks into an even greater brand. And with more time I’ll have the opportunity to release more unique, production-heavy products too.
Don’t worry though, I have a bunch of great ideas for the future, but right now I just need some time to sort things out. When Lowdtown returns, I guarantee it will come back with a bang. Til then, I’ll try to spend some time over the summer on promotion and hopefully have more time to spend on blogging to keep my fans updated.
I stumbled on this website today, and I think it’d be a great resource to a lot of you guys. It’s pretty much a bunch o’ resources to jump start your t-shirt designing destinies!
Be sure to check it out, there’s a bunch of great tuts on there, as well as blogs and inspirations and stuff.
So, as you guys may already know, I’m a huge fan of animation, and I’m thinking about maybe going into an animation related field in the future. I came across an animation today that I have to share! It’s called “This one time…” by Nelson Boles, and it is phenomenal. So here’s the deal, I used to linger around a forum called Make Stuff Move. It’s an animation forum started by artist, Totty, and it was popular for people who did a lot of keyframe animation. I’ve never been very good at fbf animation, but I was always awed by the people who could. So one dude on there, Nelson, who frequented the site, was always a big inspiration. And here’s the thing, he’s the same age as me! To be honest, it gets me really jealous to see someone as talented as him, the same age as me, but man, this is one talented fellow. I hope he really goes places, because he has been a huge inspiration. Not to sound like a stalker, but I did a quick google search on his name and found out that he won some crazy scholarship for his animation demo reel. Really amazing stuff.
Well, without further ado:
The other thing I saw today, is also awesome. Not as awesome as Nelson’s animation, but still awesome. Here’s a set of vinyl toys that I found today called Treeson. They’re very detailed and super well designed. I wanted to get my hands on one of the new 8″ vinyl’s but I can’t find it in their store besides the pink one. Definitely worth taking a look if you’re into that kind of stuff though.
By the way, I’m sorry for the hiatus of t-shirt relevant posts. I’m finishing up my freshman year at Parsons, so I haven’t had a lot of time to devote to blogging, but once I finish (this friday-ish) I’ll be spending more time on stuff like this. Sorry folks!
Here’s something I saw a few days ago that I thought was awesome.
This is a music video for Nyle’s song “Let the Beat Build”. The entire music video was filmed in one take and used the audio that was recorded on the spot. I’ve never heard of Nyle, but this music video has gotten a lot of attention, so hopefully people’ll hear his name soon enough.
