Sleeveface
February 25th, 2010I’ve always enjoyed looking at pictures of people who have taken album covers with faces and matched them up with their own bodies. Did you know that there’s a whole website dedicated to these fun photographs? Sleeveface is a site where you can see tons of user-submitted pictures of this nature. The site defines the term sleeveface as “one or more persons obscuring or augmenting any part of their body or bodies with record sleeve(s) causing an illusion.” What a fantastic idea! Here are a few examples from the site:

T-Shirt War!!
February 9th, 2010I just saw this incredible video and knew that I had to share it with all of you. This is a brilliant idea and insanely fun to watch. Check out how 222 t-shirts can be put to great use!
Mr. T + T-shirts = Mr. Tee
January 29th, 2010Murraymullet has submitted an awesome piece that’s now up for voting at Threadless. “Mr. Tee” is a portrait of Mr. T made entirely of t-shirts. The folds, creases, and shadows are perfect! Why did I never think of this brilliant idea? I definitely want to see this printed!

Arcade Expressionism is Awesome
January 27th, 2010One of the coolest Threadless tees that I’ve seen in a while was released this week. Titled “Arcade Expressionism,” Laser Bread’s homage to Donkey Kong combines an old-school video game with abstract art. This was one of the pieces that Laser Bread made for his 2009 Make Something Cool Every Day project, and I’m glad that it was submitted for voting. Even if you’re unfamiliar with the game, it’s still pretty awesome to look at and interpret.

Farkfk’s Montana Series
January 23rd, 2010I know that this is my second Munny post in a row, but these guys were too cool to not write about. Farkfk has been working on a series of custom Munny toys called the “Montana Series.” These Munny figures are painted with Montana Gold spray paint, and what’s especially neat is that the spray cans become home for these toys. These Munny are each painted with one color, but because of the creative use of the cans, they’re by no means boring to look at! Check out other amazing vinyl toy customizations at Farkfk’s flickr.

Munny to Help Haiti
January 17th, 2010I’ve been looking at tons of custom Munny toys lately, and just now I came across a new custom Munny being auctioned off in order to support the victims of the Haitian earthquake. This mini Munny toy is customized with stitched leather and aside from looking awesome, it was created for an amazing cause. All of the proceeds from this piece will be donated to the Red Cross. Check out the auction by clicking on the image below.
Parkour Motion Reel
January 12th, 2010I just saw this video a few minutes ago and it completely blew me away! Illustrated by Serene Teh, this video shows the art of parkour on paper. I cannot even imagine how long it took to create this beautiful piece. All that I can say is that it came together extremely well. See for yourself!

Skeg’s “Universal” Tee
January 12th, 2010One of the coolest tees I’ve seen recently is a piece done by Derek Deal for the newly launched brand Skeg Clothing. It shows a jar that holds the entire universe, and the ginormous print definitely makes this look believable. I can’t help but be drawn to this piece, and I’m sure that this tee would get a few double takes out in public!
The Third & The Seventh
January 9th, 2010I saw this video by Alex Roman earlier today, and I have to say that it completely blew me away! Everything in this video is CG, but it all looks incredibly real. My eyes simply cannot believe that the elements in the video are computer-generated. If you love architecture and computer graphics, definitely check this video out. It’s insanely awesome!

Edgar Mueller’s “The Crevasse”
December 31st, 20093D street art is absolutely incredible! If you’ve never seen it before, it consists of two-dimensional paintings on pavement that appear to be three-dimensional when viewed from the proper angle. One of my favorite artists in the scene is Edgar Mueller. I recently saw the making-of video for Mueller’s piece titled “The Crevasse” and thought that I would share it with you all! Here’s an image of the piece followed by the video. Enjoy!
